Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Dharakoot online store ("Store"), operated by Dhara Koot ("Dharakoot", "we", "us", "our"). By browsing the Store or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Store.

1. About Dharakoot

Dharakoot is a commerce platform for India's heritage and Geographical Indication (GI) craft products, organised state by state, connecting buyers directly with farmers, artisans and collectives — including Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), producer companies, cooperatives, self-help groups (SHGs) and artisan collectives. Our contact email is dharakoot@gmail.com.

2. Products and services

The Store sells (a) physical heritage and GI craft products, (b) Dharakoot Experience bookings — immersive, artisan-led field journeys, which are services, not physical goods, and (c) digital memberships. Product descriptions, prices and availability are shown on each product page. Because our products are handmade, minor variations in colour, pattern, size and finish are natural and are not defects.

3. Prices and payment

All prices are shown in Indian Rupees (INR). [TO CONFIRM: whether listed prices include applicable taxes — update this line before launch.] Payments are processed securely through Razorpay (cards, UPI, NetBanking and wallets). We never receive or store your card numbers or UPI credentials. An order is confirmed once payment is successfully captured and you receive an order confirmation.

4. Order acceptance

We may cancel or refuse an order if a product is unavailable, if pricing or product information was incorrect, or if we suspect fraud. If we cancel a paid order, you will receive a full refund through your original payment method.

5. Shipping, delivery and returns

Shipping, delivery and returns are governed by our Shipping Policy and Refund and Returns Policy, which form part of these Terms.

6. Dharakoot Experiences

Experience bookings are for the date range and group stated on the product page. After booking, you report to the collaborating institution named on the product page, which confirms your date and curates your journey. Cancellation terms are stated on each experience product page. Experiences are subject to a maximum of 30 participants per start date, confirmed by the institution.

7. Authenticity

Products described as GI-tagged are presented on the basis of Geographical Indication registration records and the producer's status as communicated to us. We work directly with artisan communities and collectives to keep provenance transparent. If you believe a product has been misrepresented, contact us and we will investigate.

8. Intellectual property

All content on the Store — including text, images, the Dharakoot name and logo, and product photography — belongs to Dharakoot or its producers and may not be reproduced without permission.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [TO CONFIRM: city], India.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your order applies to that order.
