Handpainted Wooden Musician Set — Varanasi Lacquerware

A tiny orchestra from the ghats. This handpainted wooden musician set is made by the lacquerware artisans of Varanasi, whose wooden toys and lacquerware were GI-tagged in 2014. Each figure is turned on the lathe, hand-carved, painted in bright traditional colours and finished with lacquer — the same craft that has made Varanasi one of India's largest toy-making centres for generations. A shelf piece, a desk companion, or a gift with a story.

What you get: One handpainted wooden musician set.

Details: Hand-carved wood, hand-painted, lacquer finish. Size: 2.5 inch figures. Craft: Varanasi Wooden Lacquerware & Toys (GI-tagged 2014). Made in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

Product images are concept renders of the design — the handmade piece you receive will match the design, with the natural variation of handwork.
